Franica was born in 1983. She trained in acting for 8 years at the Malta Drama Centre and holds a B.A. (Hons) in Theatre Studies from the University of Malta. She also holds a Diploma in Management from the Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM).
She joined Dù Theatre in 2005. She fulfills the role of production manager to most projects, and often takes on the additional role of stage manager, prop and puppet making, and VFX make-up when she is not performing.
As a performer, she took part in:
Cleopatra (2005), Eva (2005), Weeds (2006), Lacuna (2006), Everywoman (2007), The Vagina Monologues (2007), Medea (2008), Vuċi għal Kulħadd (2008), Truth or Dare (2009), Il-Marid Immaġinarju (2015) and Lupu/Nagħġa (2023). She was also one of the puppeteers in Fly Flynn! (2014, 2015).
Outside of Dù, she collaborates with other theatre companies as either stage manager or actor. Some of the productions she stage managed are Beauty & the Beast (2012) for Stagecoach, Ali Baba the Christmas Pantomime (2011) for FM Theatre, MADC’s Twelfth Night (2011), and Ġulina (2019), a short film by Hereonin, funded by the National Book Council as part of the 2019 Literary Short-Film Contest.
In 2011 and 2012 she trained in prosthetic make-up for the stage and film.
